How to apply treatmentFor the treatment of cold sores, the recommended amount of Dimeticone applied is to be applied three times a day at approximately 4 hourly intervals for four days. Wash your hands thoroughly after applying the cream to get rid of the cold sores. Apply a thin layer to the affected area and push the cream into the affected area until it is completely covered. Apply a thin layer to the cold sore area and massage in on all side to get a more even treatment. Do not apply the cream to mucous membranes, such as the mouth or vagina, as this may lead to irritation.
The usual application time is one treatment and then the other three times a day at approximately 4 hourly intervals for four days. For this treatment, the cream should be applied to all the affected areas and all the surrounding areas of the body. Do not apply the cream directly to the affected sores. The cream can be applied to other sores as well, so it is important that the sores are treated at the same time as the treatment. If the sores have not healed after the first dose, you can use the cream for up to 10 days in total. For the treatment of herpes simplex virus infections of the lips, the recommended amount of antiviral compound of dimeticone is one gram twice a day. For herpes zoster, the recommended amount of antiviral compound of propylene glycol is one gram and for herpes common cold, the recommended amount is one gram. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about this medication. To prevent the re-appearing of the herpes simplex virus, the recommended amount of antiviral compound of aciclovir is one gram and for herpes sores, the recommended amount is one gram. Do not use the cream more often than directed. If you experience any side effects, these are usually less with the dosing and with the cream, the symptoms may not last very long. The most common side effects are flushing, aches and pains, redness, burning, tingling, numbness, muscle pain and swelling. If these occur, seek medical attention immediately.
